The highly anticipated Kimye baby was born on Saturday, June 15th, 2013. Although we still have no word on the name, here are the latest details about the birth and everything else you need to know.
Kim went into labor early Saturday morning after having contractions the night before. She gave birth at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in L.A. Apparently she had a natural birth, but some witnesses report seeing her go into the recovery room for women who had caesareans. We won't know which is true until she releases more details about the birth.
According to the family, Kim is healthy and recovering. There are rumors that Kim had preeclampsia, a risky condition for both the mother and the baby that involves high blood pressure and swelling. We're glad to hear that both of them are okay in light of such a serious condition. Kim is usually extremely present on social media sites but since the birth has been remarkably low key. We hope this is because she is busy recovering and spending time with her baby. Her new baby apparently looks just like her, dark hair and all.
Since the baby was three to five weeks early she had to spend some time in an incubator. Kim's baby girl weighed in under five pounds which is also normal for a premature baby. There is still no official name released, but Kaidence Donda West is the front-runner for speculators. Kaidence fulfills Kim's stipulations of starting with a K and being original. Donda is to honor Kanye West's late mother.
The family and friends are all tweeting congratulations to Kim and Kanye. Kim's mother was present at the birth, and afterwards was spotted on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys last night. Chloe called the new baby a "miracle" and shared that "Mommy/baby are healthy&resting," on Twitter.
Kanye was also there for the birth despite rumors that he was planning on missing the birth, he even cancelled going to the release party for his new album, Yeezus. He was able to see his baby just in time for Father's Day and his new album is drawing good reviews so it's a good time to be Kanye.
There are theories about why Kimye's baby was so early, however they are all unsubstantiated. These include: lying about the due date because she got pregnant so quickly, faked the due date for privacy, induced labor to avoid even more weight gain, and induced early to differentiate from Kate Middleton's. We don't believe these theories to be true though because of the necessity for the incubator, a typical method to help premature babies.
Although the family is currently keeping most of the details of the birth private, Kim's reality star attitude surely won't keep it that way for long. We're looking forward to hearing all about the experience, learning the name, and maybe even seeing pictures. Will this new baby be the latest member of the cast of Keeping Up With The Kardashians?
