Commercial space travel is on the horizon. For a lucky few it is already here though. Justin Bieber apparently is signed up among other celebrities for a commercial space flight via Virgin Galactic's Richard Branson.
Richard Branson tweeted, "Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalatic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!" Justin Bieber retweeted Richard Branson's mention. Sounds like Justin Bieber and his agent Scott Braun are going to space!
If the news is confirmed then Justin will be joining a list of other celebrities who have apparently also signed up including: Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Ashton Kutcher, and Tom Hanks. The ride in space costs $200,000 to $250,000, pretty affordable for these celebrities.
The ride takes passengers on Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo rocket place up over 62 miles in altitude to where the boundary of outer space is. Passengers will feel weightlessness for a few minutes and get a view of earth from space. After that it will be like a roller coaster ride back to earth.
If Justin Bieber went on this ride it would be good publicity for the entire commercial space travel industry. Virgin Galactic already has 600 people signed up, but with his name on their roster they are sure to get more.
We can't wait to see Justin Bieber go to space. He has said that he'd love to do a concert in space. Perhaps one day even that will be possible.
